[Op-ed] Preparing for Micron requires collaborative effort, starting now

Building a facility for a global corporation that will be employing 9,000 people isn’t something that happens overnight. An initiative of this scale and magnitude requires a deliberate effort to make sure that we’re ready as a region, and as a state, to support and grow such a large investment in our collective future. James D’Agostino, the director of TDO, shares his thoughts on what we need to do in preparation of the construction and development of the new Micron semiconductor factory in Clay, New York.

Ever since Micron Technology announced it would build a massive semiconductor factory in Clay, Central New York has been buzzing about this incredible opportunity.

But welcoming a global company — and the 9,000 jobs that come with it — isn’t as easy as cutting a ribbon.
