Supply Chain Initiatives Program Offering
The Supply Chain Initiatives program has been designed to assist small to mid-sized manufacturer’s to gain an understanding of the maturity of their supply chain management practices and identify potential changes that can remove risk from their businesses. It includes an assessment that is evaluated by supply chain experts who prepare a customized report of recommendations for the manufacturer. Grant funded support is available after the assessment should the manufacturer wish to pursue improvement activities.
The NYS supply chain Manufacturing Initiatives Grant is intended for:
- Manufacturers with a valid Manufacturing NAICS code and listing in Dun & Bradstreet
- Manufacturers with fewer than 500 employees
Requests from participants:
- Participate in assessment sessions
- Participate in post assessment reviews
Supply Chain Maturity Assessment
Step 1 is an assessment that will interview the manufacturer and indicate opportunities to improve supply chain management and remove risks for the manufacturer's business.
Funding
Step 2 is an opportunity for participants to receive grant funded support for customized supply chain management improvement activities.
About The Program
For a manufacturer, their supply chain is vital to their operations, profit, cashflow and reputation. Managing the inventory of components to meet anticipated needs and containing the cost of them allows for a predictable production process and profitability.
The NYS Supply Chain Manufacturing Initiatives Grant has been designed to help manufacturers understand and assess their management of suppliers, internal buyers, inventory and communication to stakeholders around these best practice families:

- Collaborative Planning with Sales & Operations
- Supply Chain Continuous Improvement Efforts & Results

- Control of Supply Chain: Engineering Changes, Incoming Inspection, Purchasing Controls

Manufacturing Supply Chain Learning Opportunities
This program provides a baseline “Supply Chain Maturity” self-assessment that eligible manufacturers can complete online. This will help inform actions for the assessment team in order to make recommendations to the manufacturer to help improve their practices/processes around supply chain management.
Interested manufacturers will have a formal report out on their self-assessment and be eligible for up to 8-hours of assistance that may come in the form of training or customized tool development based on gaps identified in the assessment.
