McCullagh Coffee Attains SQF 9 Certification

Based in Buffalo, New York, McCullagh Coffee has been in business for over 150 years. The business roasts, grinds, and distributes specialty coffee and peripheral hot beverage products to institutional, restaurant, commercial, and retail customers. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic McCullagh saw an opportunity to take their product quality to a new level by attaining SQF 9 certification. The SQF 9 code is the latest version of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) standard, a GFSI-recognized certification program that assists food and beverage companies, distribution, and primary production facilities in maintaining stringent food safety and quality requirements.

McCullagh has worked with NYMEP Center Insyte Consulting over the years on several initiatives and turned to the once again for help in assessing the company’s readiness and driving the changes necessary to achieve SQF 9 certification. McCullagh Coffee Inc. subsequently attained certification on their first attempt, laying the foundation for many more decades of growth.
