American Sensing Inc. is a two-employee start-up that manufactures and markets products to monitor indoor air quality. In order to grow, it needed to obtain AS 9100 certification, but was hampered by the fact that had little to no document structure or established processes to build upon. The owners of American Sensing turned to Insyte Consulting to help it develop the procedures needed in order to get certified in a short time frame. With the help of Insyte – part of the New York MEP – several challenges related to developing new methods and metrics were addressed.
The whole process for developing the system and getting certified was much smoother than I expected.
- Processes were developed to help American Sensing perform the necessary functions without adding restrictions on their limited resources
- Insyte performed a mock audit to ensure the system met all requirements of AS 9100D
- Certification audit was scheduled with Phase 2 completed in September 2021
